Nancy O'Dell's first position in the broadcasting industry was as a reporter/anchor for WPDE-TV Myrtle Beach South Carolina. O'Dell later became a morning news anchor at WCBD TV and was a crime reporter. Her reporting of the ineffective response of the police towards DUI cases in Charleston caused an investigation being conducted by the State Law Enforcement Division, which led to a change in policy from state officials regarding DUI cases. Ms. O'Dell was awarded the Best Report of the Media Award South Carolina by the Associated Press. O'Dell's experience in Charleston has led to her serving as a co-anchor, reporter and anchor for NBC's Miami WTVJ-TV. Prior to she joined Access Hollywood she was a co-anchor on weekdays as well as NBC's weekend co-anchor. In addition to her current job as the lead anchor on Access Hollywood Ms. O'Dell is also an anchor for NBC News' Today and in addition for Dateline NBC. She's covered the Academy Awards The Emmys The Grammys The Golden Globe Awards and co-hosted various pre-show arrivals shows in preparation for The Emmys And The Golden Globes. Other co-hosting credits include Miss USA, the Miss USA pageant, and Miss Universe.
